Kageyama and Ren are as opposite as it gets, but Ren is probably the first person for him to turn to if he can even bring himself to. On days that are only half as depressing as others, they even do casual conversation - as casual as Kageyama gets, anyway. There's banter, because often Ren seems to be poking him around a lot and not taking the whole Darkness Act not too seriously. Actually, Ren doesn't seem to be taking a lot of things very seriously, which annoys Kageyama. But they know a lot of stuff about each other by now, much to Ukehopper's chagrin. He still doesn't trust him. He still wants to push him away whenever Ren does get serious about the jesusing. He doesn't want to get hurt again by growing attached to people who will push him away once they figure out he really is a lost cause, which they inevitably will. To him. Ren downright promised to stay by his side, which freaked him out, but he couldn't stay away from him for long, co-dependence be damned.

Nango and Yuuto do not actually talk a lot. Most of Nango's opinion on Yuuto builds on what Deneb tells him about him. Nango gets a little grumpy whenever people confuse him for Tsunnaka and is somewhat in denial over looking identical at all, but he likes that Yuuto is a hero and fights to protect and stuff like that. He also believes he can see through the tsun facade a little! Even if he has yet to. It's more of an "I know you don't hate me, man" attitude. Nango easily gets along with people, so that doesn't come as a surprise.

Ryuunosuke and Rin seem to be on a somewhat civil level now, after a bumpy start. He's still a little miffed by Rin's obsession with fashion and WHY DO YOU HATE MY SWEATERVESTS, but he feels as if he's found a bit of a sore spot in Rin's teef and instead of choosing to use it as a trump card in fights, he used it as an offer to get along. He's too interested still to simply keep fighting (though they probably will) seriously. He does seem like a nice guy otherwise, if somehow younger than himself.

Why

Ryoutarou's love life ended. He never knew that the girl had TRIED TO KILL HIS BOYFRIEND'S BROTHER and that was uh ... not on. This was on Valentine's Day that he learned this, by the way. :'D So he was like "WHELP, AWK" then she left. Poor bastard! He knows she's dead and gone, so he just thinks of it as having given her happy memories to take with her to the grave. :( She was pushing him in a lot of ways when she was around, so it was always pretty uncomfortable, and he's not really sure he was in love! Then he had a boyfriend who he cared about and liked being with but then boyfriend left. So he is just a sad and alone panda.

Maya has no love for her husband; she's with him because she has to be, that's pretty clear. She is in it for her baby and nothing more. Suddenly she meets Otoya and as dumb and quirky as he is, he fills the holes in her life, and she in his. It kills her inside to know that he will die soon after she returns home, but she falls more in love with him when he looks at King's son and calls him his own child.

Tsubaki was in love with a commoner, he was her boyfriend, but her mom did not approve and arranged a marriage with a wealthy heir. She wasn't strong enough to leave the family and be with that boy, and she married the person she was supposed to! ... She does love her husband, in her own way, and she is happy with him. It's just not the way she would have had it had she been able to choose.

Gon IS EIGHT, CALL BACK IN FIFTEEN YEARS.

Balthier lol love life!? He is a player, he likes the ladies, he charms them and is suave and he never stays long enough to be more than the handsomest best guy they've ever known and takes off with their silver in the night. PIRATE. Really, the only person he goes back to is Fran. It's ... kind of a super open relationship? She's the girl he'll risk his life for! But that doesn't happen a lot. Because she is Fran, and a master of every weapon. That he did not steal Bahamut because of her says everything.

Kaoru WHAT LOVE LIFE. Uh she has a date with Jesse St. Automaton, but she doesn't really understand what dating means. :\a She knows what marriages and arranged marriages are!? Someday she will have to find someone who has the skill for mojikara to marry, who will be accepting of samurainess, blah blah. If you think about the qualifications to marry into the family for more than ten seconds, you probably get Genta. Cry.

Goku IS DUMB. He promised a girl when he was ten that he would come back and marry her! ... only he forgot. And he thought marriage was something to eat. So she hunted him down after a decade and joined the tournament he was in without revealing her name, because boy was she a pissy hick. They had an amazing tournament fight which he won, and she said her name and reminded him of the promise. The anime makes him a lot dumber, but either way, he proposes to her (again) right on the spot and they get married and have babies and turn down a job offer to become gods.

What's your headcanon on Kageyama's family?

They died in Shibuya when he was still young, probably not leaving many memories. My headcanon has always been that he joined ZECT very early on - like Renge did, who has been in training for years before we ever see her in canon. Kageyama's father was an ambitious man who was not home often but when he was, was probably the type to pat his head and tell him to be a good, tough boy. Kageyama had no siblings, but he kept telling his Mom he wanted an older brother for Christmas when he was really young.

Your characters go to the casino! Who's best at what?

Shuichi's shit out of luck and needs Yuki to bail him out. Though he did win a little at the slot machines!

Nana's okay at blackjack because some of dealers are charmed by how cute she is. Plus, it's an easy game she understands.

Raine's good at the card tables because they all involve some strategy.

Daisuke has okay luck but usually wins if the dealers are women because he flirts with them.

Genta's not bad. ALAS, NO GOLD FOR THE GOLDEN BOY.

What was going on in Ryuunosuke's head during Genta's first fight, all the way up to "LOOK TIME NO SEE, TAKE-CHAN. :DDDDD *POUNCE*"

Ryuunosuke probably didn't expect a lot when Genta first showed up, razor chopsticks aside. The sentiment probably hung somewhere in between "What is this guy doing", "You have to be kidding me" and "WHY DOES HE KEEP ASKING US IF WE'RE PAYING ATTENTION".

Well, Ryuunosuke provided us with his some of his thoughts -- that he hadn't paid attention or studied properly and somehow missed out on the information that there was a sixth ranger. This quickly switched to back disbelief when he found out that even Takeru had no idea what was going on.

Also, "what just happened" and admittedly, awe at Genta's speedy iai-do. He pretty much saved their asses there, even Ryuunosuke can't deny that. The showiness probably irked him a lot, though.

But the de-henshin. Oh the de-henshin. WHY IS HE SO FAMILIAR WITH OUR LORD, WHY DOES HE HAVE NO MANNERS OR SENSE OR PROPRIETY, AUGH AUGH. Pure indignation. You've seen the rest; he and Chiaki hauled him off of Takeru after all. :Da IT WAS NOT A GOOD START.


Genta's thoughts on all the stuff he missed out on for one month!

"FML" covers it for the most part. A tiny part of him still doesn't want to believe he missed that much but he can't deny things like camp being in the middle of a cornfield now. He also feels bad that he couldn't help the team kick the cultists' asses. He's happy everybody's okay now though!

...And there's the makeouts. What the fuck, you guys? GENTA STILL THINKS RYUUNOSUKE'S NOT STRAIGHT BY THE WAY. Because seriously. How the hell do you let it go on for so long? He's also starting to think Takeru can't function somewhat normally if he's not around to tell him social norms. sob

In short, Genta basically thinks that camp turning him into an action figure for that month has been the biggest dick move so far.

Philip's thoughts on his part of GaiaMemory manufacturing. How'd he feel before he was rescued and how does he feel now?

DEEP, UTMOST RESPECT. Which is odd, because he wouldn't have expected himself to feel this way about a pirate. Her company seems pleasant to him, he's the studious type, so they could probably nerd it out over books to no end. Ryuunosuke has really come to like the Straw Hats despite his initial mistrust. He's also glad that she seems to be amused by his sometimes very dramatic nature. Her powers are not something Ryuunosuke would like to face in a fight, especially now that he's seen her nutcrunching habits, so he's also INCREDIBLY GRATEFUL THEY'RE GETTING ALONG, YES. He'll make use of his best manners to make sure it stays that way. :Ea Which is why you get to keep calling him Cactus Ranger. Ahaha.


Ryuunosuke would handle himself pretty well in fights, but that is all. A pirate's life and the yo ho ho is definitely not for him. He's a man with so many ideals and the need to protect the world and fight to create peace that, while he wouldn't be enemies with the Straw Hats on a pesonal level, he'd probably side with the marines out of simple sense of responsibility. A lot of the pirate's dreams and wishes are based on selfish interests and even grudges, which is fine, but not his schtick. Alas. :(


On a LET'S PARTY WITH THE PIRATES level, though, he'd fare pretty well. He's a happy drunk! :Db

She likes all the rangers! Everyone is super easy to tease and they all seem like really good kids. Plus, they're all very polite, which is a nice change from...Luffy. And Zoro. And Franky. yeah

MAYBE A LITTLE. He ended up keeping that cactus to finally fix his issue, so he feels it is no longer an appropriate nickname, but he can see where she's coming from, and it's his responsibility to man up about it.

Ryuunosuke holds all Shinkengers extremely dear to him, but if he had to pick one who places high on an actual casual friend scale, Chiaki is right up there going for best friend status. Takeru has Genta, Kotoha has Mako, and Ryuunosuke has Chiaki, even if they argue half of the time. It's probably just as Takeru put it, they get along so well that they feel comfortable fighting.

Ryuunosuke also greatly respects the progress he has made as a samurai. It is due to that that he's been making an effort to meet him halfway now that they're allowed - Chiaki's become a competent fighter, and Ryuunosuke ... does stuff like playing video games with him. Even if he doesn't really get the point, when it comes down to it, Ryuunosuke likes to compete with him and it's a change to go for something he isn't more skilled in. As much as they do fight, they're one hell of an asskicking team. Even before the handcuff shenanigans helped them synch up, there were times when they'd work really well together. And then they figured out how to actively channel that chemistry and whoop some Gedoubutt.

Chiaki may be the one least sticking to the book when it comes to fighting, but Ryuunosuke actually respects his creativity. His level-headedness helps him pull himself back down to earth at times, too. Chiaki is the sanity and modern counterpart to Ryuunosuke's oddball tendencies and anachronistic lifestyle. They're bound to clash hard, but if they arrange themselves, they compliment each other just as well.

... He never really met Chiaki's dad, but I have this feeling he'd probably envy his easygoing upbringing at times, no matter how often he's chided Chiaki for not having learned This or That. This is semi-headcanon, but father complexes have me believing Ryuunosuke's relationship with his Dad are not nearly so casual. It just makes me think about how different they really are and marvel at how well they get along. They bros, man.

Tsukasa thinks Nango is pretty awesome, honestly! He is too... well, Tsukasa to really express this. But in all honesty, Nango is... loud, obnoxious, and one of the nicest people Tsukasa knows. He doesn't have that tsundere problem that he and Natsumi have, he isn't a total dick like Kaitou, and he's... well, he's nothing like Yuusuke. Tsukasa doesn't have anything that he can really compare him to.

I think the best thread to show their relationship is the kitchen with the hose. He's willing to goof off with Nango in weird ways. With Yuusuke or Kaitou, he never would have been able to just have a hose fight and have fun with it because he has to be dignified and awesome and basically show off for them, because it's just... how he works. With Nango and Natsumi, though, he was able to just chill and spray them and have fun like that. And he did have fun, even if he didn't admit it.

Nango is honestly probably one of his closest friends from Camp. He would mafia for Nango no matter what. He would also teach him how to kick monsters if Nango wanted to learn.

Nango on Tsukasa I am the best human blanket you only forgot to mention this

ALRIGHT, Nango really, really likes Tsukasa. He's a kind of cool guy, and Nango sort of guesses that some people are a lot more important to him than he would show. He doesn't really need to be shown, but it obviously doesn't work the same unsaid way with people like Natsumi, so he often ends up trying to meddle between them to get this across. Sometimes he gets headaches for all the trouble that's between you two, but he doesn't actually like Tsukasa any less than Natsumi, so he's trying to be as impartial as it gets. Mostly he succeeds, but Natsumi is the one who's more likely to approach him about matters. He keeps meaning to hit up Tsukasa when they've argued again and have a stern conversation, but it doesn't really work out. The last time he tried, Tsukasa completely distracted him with the Nangoggles issue and he was back to loud and spaztastic.

He also doesn't buy even half of the Destroyer shit that he has come to learn about. He has a certain hero brand of viewing things, but Tsukasa is his buddy so naturally he is not a bad guy. If anyone says otherwise, he will jump in their face. Even Deneb experienced this, and Nango is normally very fond of Deneb. He can't mafia for you as far as kicking ass the plastic way is concerned, but he will get very riled and ready to fight for Tsukasa.

Nango on Yellow. Well, that was a little awkward. He believed she was a guy for the longest time, which is why he was pretty casual with her from the start, and suddenly he's forced by his own ideal to be a lot more polite around her. It hasn't worked completely, but that's fine. She seems to like him well enough, so he's warming up from his usual girlspazz. She's also really cute and he wants to feed her nice things. He adored her pokeymans, which are pretty much one of the coolest creatures he's come across! But she has got to stop falling asleep in weird places, man, he gets so worried. :/

Nango on Airi UWAA she flusters him so, this nice lady. Who's engaged to his facetwin, not that he knows. But they have a lot of potential for awkward and nice! And he enjoys cooking for her and talking about recipes and stuff.

Nango on Takumi . . . stop insulting my food and calling me an idiot without valid reasons and maybe I won't want to punch you. YEAH.

Kageyama on Tendou HATE HATE AND ALSO HATE. Also blaming him for a great chunk of the shit that happened to him and Yaguruma, possibly kind of hoping that if Tendou hadn't been there, Yaguruma would have never lost TheBee and they'd still be one happy Shadow family. Not that I find this likely, but Kageyama can be blue-eyed like that.

Kageyama on Otoya similar dislike, hits him in his I AM AMAZING AND THE BEST hatepings. Which reminds him of Tendou. Only infinitely more fabulous. Which weirds him out.
